Supreme Court Ruling: Scottish Independence Referendum

On Wednesday 23rd November, the Supreme Court will rule on whether the referendum for Scottish Independence can be held, with or without Westminster’s approval.

All eyes will be on Scotland, so it’s important that we have as many people on the streets as possible, demonstrating Scotland’s strength of feeling – whatever the ruling.

There will be a rally outside the Scottish Parliament from 5pm, but if you can’t get to Edinburgh, you’ll find a country-wide list of some of the other rallies here: https://timeforscotland.scot/about-the-rally/local-events

So get ready!

Start making banners and signs. It’s going to be dark, so if you want to be fancy, you could think about portable fairy lights or bike lamps on the top of the board pointing down on the sign.

It has been known to rain in Scotland. If you cover your banner with plastic or clingfilm it’ll look beautiful – whatever the weather!

If you’re a gardener, you might have some bamboo poles in your shed. They’re lightweight and work well for banners and signs.

Post about it on Social Media, on the runup to the event and during it.

Tag us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Mastodon if you use them. We will repost, to get the word out.

Ask some friends to join you for the rally. Watching  history in the making is more fun with a friend!

Put notices up in your community. Not everyone lives online. ?

Edinburgh Women for Independence will be at Holyrood from 5pm. You can join them there or attend another rally in your locality.  Let us know how your rally goes and send photos if you can!

See you on the streets!
